18 weeks

Here are some pics of me entering my 18th week. :)

My clothes don't fit!

It's official... I cannot button my pants anymore. Last Friday out of no where it just popped out without warning or notification. I can't suck it in and I can't (and don't really want to) hide it. Yes, ladies and gentlemen this is the moment we've all been waiting for.  After over 4 months of no morning sickness and nothing indicating that I'm pregnant other than being quite fatigued and a lack of "that time of the month", I finally feel pregnant! For those of you who know me you would immediately be able to recognize it... for the general public, they might be pondering a 50/50 of either "that girl needs to go to the gym" or "there's a bun in that oven". I've also started feeling those "flutters" I was told about... though it's still kind of hard to wrap my head around the fact that it's a human being inside me creating that feeling.

Baby is now the size of the palm of a hand and weighing in at ~5 oz. Next Wednesday we go in for the check-up of all check-ups to find out if it's a boy or a girl! We can't wait to find out!

Last night Paul took a pic of me and forgot to upload it to the computer. I'll post it up asap so you can check out my little growing belly.

Week 14 Picture

Sorry this is a bit out of order... but this is me at week 14. Still no baby bump. I'm currently at week 16 and think I'm a little more "bumpish" than I was 2 weeks ago. I'll have Paul take a pic of me soon and hopefully get back on track with keeping things more chronological.

Four Month Appointment... Week 16

Today I went in for another OB check up. Baby G and I are doing great! I got to listen to its heartbeat and Dr. Grady could hear baby moving around.   He said I should start feeling "flutters" between now and week 18...but he said I could easily mistake it for gas. I think things are going to get crazy when I will be able to actually feel baby moving... and really know it.

I've been getting a lot of questions lately about whether we are going to find out the gender. The answer is yes and we should find out at next months appointment. Conveniently we only have to wait 3 weeks. I've been going in once every 4 weeks for my appointments but, since Dr. Grady is going on vaca during week 4, we get to find out a week earlier...lucky us! So as of right now we should know March 24th.

It's hard to believe in a month I will be halfway through my pregnancy. So far it's been painless and uneventful (and I couldn't be more thankful for that). I think I'm just starting to get a baby bump now, though I can still fit into all my clothes. However, I am catching myself wanting to unbutton my pants while sitting and know in the near future I will need to invest in some maternity wear. For now I am still enjoying being "skinny".

A special shout out to Kate Rabie... she introduced me to this lifesaving book, Baby Bargains. It's basically a comprehensive guide to baby gear and what you "actually" need for baby vs what the baby industry tells you. It has non-biased reviews on products and great tips for saving money! Though we haven't taken the leap yet, I now know when I step foot into Baby's R Us for the first time I will not be completely overwhelmed. This is a must have book for any parent-to-be!

Will post pics soon of the bump and rewind time a bit and finally post the videos of us telling our parents the good news back at Christmas.
